BBB+RuneOS+I2S

Hi
It is very interesting to use runeOS with I2S on BBB.
But the onboard HDMI audio that uses the I2S is not enabled on your image.
Is there any way to enable it?

YES. It is the I2S direct out feature, so I buy BBB for the music player. My USB DAC only supports up to 96k output, it may have some issue to play DSD music clips. It will be very great If this I2S out from HDMI pins feature is enabled. :)

I guess one have to load the appropriate modules at boot.
The question is what modules do we have to load and IF those modules are compiled with that kernel.

any news on this?
I'm also very interested in i2s over hdmi to use the BBB as a device to send digital audio bitperfect to my a/v receiver (or a DAC with hdmi in) to be able to play 192khz 24bit audio files.

AS far as I understand the raspberry pi doesn't allow to do this since the broadcom hdmi chip only allows 96khz signals..
Since the BBB has a i2s on the board it would be very interesting to see it enabled using the hdmi interface..

Anyone know what kernel modules to load for the BBB ?

I am too also awaiting for the BBB RuneAudio 0.3-beta!
Currently I have my BBB I2S direct into my DAC via Miero Botic driver, and it sounds awsome!

RuneAudio 0.3-beta will simplify the process, much easily! Can't wait!!!

I posted on your thread over on DIY Audio a few days ago but no reply?

Are you planning to include all of miero's functionality? If so that would be excellent as it looks to be a true audiophile exploitation of the BBB. It really only lacks a nice front end though my personal preference would be a UPnP renderer that I could control with my tablet - I think Rune offers that?

Also, please note that the miero Botic driver requires the Twisted Pear Botic cape to achieve switching between PCM and DSD - a generic solution based on the BBB software would be nice for a more generic solution?

Cheers

Yes, we are going to try to integrate his work as promised. I lost track of the progress of his work some weeks ago, I'm going to check it again after the 0.3-beta for Rpi is out.

Thanks ACX; I'll take 'all' to include the dual external clock option functionality so the data retains its native sampling rate. That's good news.

Any thoughts on the PCM - DSD switching question?

I had a little more time to investigate your site and see that the V0.3 release of Rune for the RPi includes UPnP capability - hopefully this will be true for the BBB version as well?

Timetable for the BBB V0.3 release?

Cheers

A more harmonised interface as shown would be great!:
