Introduction and question

Hi,

I am Lancelot (nickname) and have been working with Raspberry Pi for several years now. I have 3 working now and am trying to expand my working knowledge with Raspberry pi. I was looking for a music server interface for a time now and came across Rune audio.

I have downloaded the version RuneAudio_rpi_0.3-beta_20141029 for my old Raspberry Pi (spare) and booted it up. However it stopped booting at the cursor and did not go any further.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am now downloading the RuneAudio 0.5 beta and hoping this version will work!

Hi Lancelot,

This will also happen with version 0.5b. RuneAudio runs headless, which means it detaches itself from the keyboard and display during start-up. Lots of posts about this on the forum, see here: post28244.html
There is currently a small bug caused by the disappearance of a network service which RuneAudio uses. A fix is documented in the link above.

Looking great. The 0.5 wirks fine with server and Denon Ceol N9.

Just one issue that is really irritating. When using the interface on my Samsung S8 phone and scrolling down, if you touch anywhere near the volume button you chance it. This is really anoying as you can not scrole without touching it. Is there a way to prevent this it future releases?

You could use it in landscape mode. I do that on my tablet. Another option might be to disable volume control from Rune and use your stereo's volume control.

BTW Just one more issue I noticed. I was playing around with Runeaudio again after some time and could not get it to work on my tablets or phone.
The issue was that after you reinstall a new runeaudio image on raspberry pi you ALSO need to reinstall the APP on your phone as it doesn't work anymore when the old image gets overwritten.

I'll confess, I've stayed in the slow-lane and have only been running v0.4 since I installed it a few years ago. I want to say that I did have an issue when my router reassigned the Rune's IP address. I know I should assign a static IP, but have just let is assign it via DCHP. It has moved from XX.X.X.16 to XX.X.X.17 and back at least twice on that 2 year period. No biggie on my PC w/ IE, but I think I had to dig a little deeper to redirect the IP on the Android app.
