When playing music from wireless NAS, my Pi 3 use 0.3A. When i shutdown by Rune, it's about 0.1A. Two leds on.

With Asus ZenPower 9600 power bank, when shutdown by Rune, all about off. Maybe it (power bank) off when below a certain threshold power consumption?

As @tml3nr shared, I used 2 power-bank batteries: 1 is Asus 9600mAh and 1 is ZTT 10000mAh. The Pi2 red led is off for the case of Asus after Pi2 shutting down but it is still on in the case of ZTT. That may be the battery it has the threshold board inside to control the supply.

I agreed with PeteB's concern: the issue is how to turn the Pi on. If it's consumption is not much I prefer to maintain it on or a standby rather switching it off. In any case, use RuneUI to turn it on/off for both cases should be useful. Hope it can be done in next release.

So in this case, how do you turn it on again? a) Button on the Asus, or b) do you have to unplug/plug the USB cable?

If a), then the battery bank is a nice feature, but if b), then I think I prefer my cable with the inline switch for $3!

Hi @PeteB: The battery banks they have a button so we can turn the Pi on by pressing it simply. So you go with it? ;)

Only after you guys figure out which one is best ;)

Not sure I know enough about them to even do a good test if a buy one. I tested two about a year ago, and the quality of the power output was not very good. I've been busy with the cases you saw in the other thread, answering emails, still have a couple to send out next week, waiting for some parts... sometimes I think my hobby is eating my life...

I'm waiting for my 160000 power bank.
I will test it and after it I will leave my feedback.

For me, I saw the sound is clearer from my ears. At least it is much better against to switching adapter. The best way is to use a high performance linear PSU but it is the costing issue. Any advice for us from what you have experienced so far? Tks.

I have just build a linear power supply with a LT3083, to feed my rpi3 with hifiberry digi+. The power is connected directly to the hifiberry and that also feeds the rpi. The sound is improved a lot, surprisingly :-) - I followed this: http://thehbproject.com/en/reviews/162/ ... -RuneAudio

I can only recommend it :-)
