How to update?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but, when an update is available, what is the best way to update without re-imaging the SD card and erasing all the settings?

Thanks you in advance.

At the moment that's the only way... at least until we'll introduce a smarter way (automatic updates via RuneUI) in a future version.
In the meanwhile you can at least manually backup your MPD database (we are going to introduce a backup/restore settings form too).

Hi, I discovered your project this week and it looks great. I am going to test it after a try with Volumio.

I plan to copy my music on the same SD card (32GB or 64GB) that will run RuneAudio. Since it takes a long, long time to copy them, I would appreciate the possibility to update RuneAudio without erasing the card. When is expected this new smarter update? Thanks

Hi Der Vogel, I think that a smart update feature will be introduced in 0.4 or 0.5 release. We are already planning how to do it, I can just say that it will be easy to launch it from RuneUI.

Correct me if I am wrong, but RuneAudio beeing based on Arch Linux, is it not possible to simply update with Pacman and the appropriate RuneAudio repository? Installing RuneAudio requires already to type a few comnand lines, I think no user will be bothered to type some lines again to update, as long as it is properly documented.

Of course it is possible. We will also publish a kind of "cook book" of the distro, to let users dig into its building in an easy way.
