Metadata Anomalies

Hi guys,

First of all I think what you have accomplished here in parallel with hardware vendors is phenomenal.

CD metadata is known to be flaky. It's a problem in the industry. I transferred a file directory with Aerosmith Greatest Hits to a thumb drive. When RA library was updated the first track was orphaned into a unknown album. This happens a LOT so this is not a particular fault of any one vendor it is a manufacturing problem with CD's. In the past I have reconstructed metadata records for such cases. I use AlbumPlayer on PC Windows which is a very nice system. Inevitably the orphaned tracks are given generic titles "Track 1" when the actual file on the disk typically has the correct name for the track.

I propose a feature such that when an orphaned track is detected the track is assumed to be a part of album if that exists and that the title used is the filename on the disk. This automatic name and album association would be one step closer to a better solution for a real problem.

Perhaps this has been addressed. I don't see a way to correct metadata.

Thanks ... again ... I am truly impressed with this system.

Sorry this should be in feature requests.

It turns out MediaMonkey is the perfect tool for creating music libraries!!!

No need for Rune to feature Metadata editing. Call it a day!
