Hi,

Is it the case that Snapcast server on RPi #1 will take the /tmp/snapfifo and pipe it to the 3.5mm output on RPi #1?

And for RPi #2, the Snapcast client discovers the server as it is on the same network (as I dont see any mention of config to point the client to the server) and the client also pipes the /tmp/snapfifo on RPi #1 to the 3.5mm on RPi #2?

Generally, only the Snapclient will play audio. This means you have to install a Snapclient also on RPI #1, so that it can connect on localhost to the Snapserver.
You could configure the IP address of the server, but the client will find the server automatically, because the server broadcasts the host name, port and ip address via Avahi ZeroConf.
The easiest way to setup a snapclient is the "Install debain package" option (https://github.com/badaix/snapcast#install-debian-packages).
Actually, the quickest way is to install the Snapclient on Android. An early prototype can be found here: https://github.com/badaix/snapcast/files/77482/Snapcast-0_4_9_alpha.apk.zip (see: https://github.com/badaix/snapcast/issues/9)

Not sure if this is an option for You, but this is what I use. 0 latency (speed of light). If you don't compress your audio like radio stations do it won't sound like krap commercial fm radio. I'm anal about audio and the quality is excellent! I have small portable radios (dirt cheap nowadays) with headphone jacks hooked up to computer speakers with sub woofers, very affordable and excellent fidelity! And boom boxes for working on the truck or grillin on the back porch!

Hello
Has anyone really managed to make Runeaudio work with Snapcast
I'm using a Raspberry PI 3 Amp +
If someone else has already done so, you could make the .ISO file available

Thank you

Frank said that he has a working prototype and that synced multiroom will soon make it into current version, so patience. That guy has only 2 hands. :)

sorry … but i am disappointed :-(

is there really nobody who wants to share a howto, a step by step guid or just usefull informations to make rune with snapcast as a multiroomsolution?

i know these are all private persons with limited free time and recurces!
but a community can work together an bring RUNE AUDIO to a SONOS KILLERAPP.

if there are only lone wolf’s to build here own private solution … i have to accept … if NOT … please let us know
