If i have a playlist (queue) of 30 tracks and i have random enabled. Rihanna may play 1, james blunt 2, then rihanna again after.

Basically the same song would play again, maybe again and again but it plays again anyway before the 20 odd different tracks which never been played before / yet?

My question is, i understand the playerhead decides but is there something we can implement to prevent such a thing?

I tried the random function on my test system and it works like it should (no double played songs).
My mpd version is 0.19.19.

You can try:
- enable consume mode

ON: http://runeaudio.local/command/?cmd=consume%201
OFF: http://runeaudio.local/command/?cmd=consume%200
(or put your player's IP instead of "runeaudio.local")

- use my latest image and try "Randomly add songs to queue" from the manage playlists tab.
