Automatically playing/restarting on boot

Hi All,

New to Raspberry Pi and Rune Audio. Looks awesome. Can't wait to start experimenting. Will be ordering a Raspberry Pi tonight.

I'm looking to setup 5 systems to play audio over 5 separate channels for a small facility.

One concern is needing user intervention in the case of a power failure or system reboot. When rune audio boots can it be set to automatically start playing audio from a USB flash drive or from a network location? Can it play a specific playlist at startup?

Is there any way to have it start playing where it left off? That is, could it start at the last track it was playing before the system restarted?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

my latest image for the Pi2/3
http://www.runeaudio.com/forum/runeaudio-0-4-beta-for-raspberry-pi2-3-t4434.html
can be configured to do this with one exception.
Can it play a specific playlist at startup?

No.

Are there instructions on how to do that startup configuration?

Hi elktamer,

Are there instructions on how to do that startup configuration?

With the above-mentioned image, it is an option (Autoplay) on the MPD settings page.

Frank,

Thank-you. I'm using it in a care home, and on/off is as much control as the user can handle.

Hi Frank,

I gave the autoplay setting a try and it isn't working for me. Is there a particular way to store the audio files on the USB flash drive to get this to work? I had folders for each album inside folders for each artist. I was playing the tracks for one album, unplugged the RPi and plugged it back in but the audio did not automatically restart.

I also noticed that when I changed the default volume level and saved it, it reverted back to original value after a power loss.

Regards,
Chris

New to RuneAudio, but got it working alright on my RPi 3/B.

Have installed the new beta, but can't get AutoPlay to work. It loads up the previously playing Queue, but in Stopped mode. I have to hit Play to start it playing. What am I doing wrong?

Hi timflan,

did you reboot or unplug power?
The option "autoplay" is enabled?
