Hey there,

Just wanted to post a few pics of my week-end's work. I repurposed an old Sony ST-80 tuner to go with my Sony TA-88 amp and ST-88 tuner. Gutted the insides, reworked the plate, adapted a few things here and there and here it is :

Hope you'll like it :)

Wow, this is insanly beautiful, really nice and clean job.

Did you reuse some of the original Buttons or is it "just" a screen for the rune? And would you share a picture from the inside? :P

Thanks !

I wanted to use the original power button for power, but it was broken. I used one of the three little black buttons for that.
I have a few photos of the build on my blog : https://www.colino.net/wordpress/archives/2018/12/15/diy-integration-esthetique-dun-lecteur-de-musique-reseau/

It's in french, but the pictures are there :)

Very nice. Are you going to try to match the stain to the other two? I really like the repurposing approach of using an old component. Really thinking of trying it on a cassette deck.

Hi,

No... I've been a bit disappointed that the wood's color don't match 100%, but I'm quite sure I'd only make things worse if I try to use a tinted varnish.
