Which speakers are ideal Hifiberry Amp+?

Hello Audiophiles,

I think I've read TOO much about speakers and opinions on them. I'm looking to get a good set of quality speakers primarily for music.

I've read quite a bit about the Polk Audio RTi A7 and I'm impressed with these - and there are at the max for my budget.

The Amp+ is within the recommended "Electrical - Recommended Amplifier Power 20-300 watts per channel" but the speakers will seemingly be rather (or VERY?) underpowered. I've read most owners are using 80W 100W or more.

Does wattage only impact how 'loud' the speakers are? What are the key technical speaker specs to look for?

I currently have some small PSB shelf speakers connected to the Amp+, and in most situations they are plenty 'loud'. (and this is without Hardware sound)

Thoughts? Thanks!

Hi dagsix,
given its 25W, you should look for speakers with high sensitivity (probably >90dB) to get the best results from it.
