Hi all,

a friend of mine bought one.

It works well with the latest images for RP2 and RP3.
You only have to adapt the /boot/config.txt file:
Code: Select all
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=1
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0

Nice viewing angle and responsive touch functionality.

As he told me it is absolutely plug and play.

Hi Frank,

Thanks your great news.
I have just bought RP3, too. I will try it soon.
It really a great display compare with lower resolution one.

Could you tell me what I needed for ODROID C1+/C2.

I just a kid on Linux.

Best Regards

Hi Frank,

Another question to your fix.
There is no "DC in" socket at RP3,
How you connect RP3 and WaveShare display to let touch screen work.

Thanks and Regards

Hi smallfat,

Could you tell me what I needed for ODROID C1+/C2.

For the ODROIDs there is no image with local browser.
Please search the forum, odroider has posted a how-to.

How you connect RP3 and WaveShare display to let touch screen work.

It is connected via USB (power and touch data)

Hi,

Thanks prompt reply.

Which section?

It is connected via USB (power and touch data)

like these?
7" display HDMI < > RP3 HDMI
7" display mirco USB < > RP3 micro USB
Power via USB on back panel.

As I will put RP3 inside a case, I need provide power on board.
So I think I need provide power via GPIO 40 Pin (Pin 2,4 and 6)

I checked out the website for waveshare, they have a 10.1" touchscreen that would work perfectly with my project, as it has front mounted holes to mount to a panel. I'm going to get that screen instead of the official RPI touchscreen as they are the same price and the 10.1" is easier to mount into a custom chassis

The 10.1" version requires a 12v@1amp power supply, but I can tap this directly from the x400 HAT as I'm feeding it 5amp @ 12v already.

Hi Dohmar,

i have both the 7" IPS and the 10.1" (1024*600).
I would go with the IPS display because of the better viewing angle and brilliant display.

Thanks Frank.

I think time circle, volume circle and album cover
should be bigger when using 1024*600 display
:D :D :D
Otherwise, there is many blank space.
Or more info ( or feature) will be added also welcome, haha

Best Regards
Michael
