Hi nickvas19 & hondagx35,
On my Pi B+/zero version with an updated kernel Spotify works fine.
My Pi 3B version with an updated kernel (build janui-20171120) which is based on the v0.3-beta (23/03/2016) RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB.img.gz Spotify will not work.
But I do know that Spotify has worked on the 0.3-beta (23/03/2016) RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB.img.gz. But I don’t have this version installed at the moment so can't test it now.
Very strange.

Hi nickvas19 & hondagx35,

To fix this problem log in via SSH and edit the file /etc/spop/spopd.conf with the command
Code: Select all
nano /etc/spop/spopd.conf
Search for the line with the contents 'cache_path =' and replace it with 'cache_path = /tmp/spop', it should then look like this
Code: Select all
### Cache settings ###
#cache_size = 0
cache_path = /tmp/spop
settings_path = /tmp/spop

Edited 27-12-2017: Solution modified for compatibility with the latest build, see here spotify-on-rpi3-t6124-10.html#p24022.

Hi janui,

on my latest image it is set to "cache_path = /tmp/spop".
Could you please try this on your installation.

Tested. This works fine.
To avoid possible conflicting solutions I will modify my previous post.

Any ideas?!

Must be the spotify opened in other device when i try to open it with rpi3?!

Hi nickvas19,
It works without problems on my installation But it is a bit slow.
The only thing I can think of is: Do you use Spotify premium via a Facebook login account?
I use a login account direct with Spotify. The password has a couple of special characters, but no spaces. The special characters do not seem to be a problem.

This is an old thread, but I am still facing issues to run Spotify from RuneAudio. I have premium account and I have special characters in my password. Can the special characters be problematic?
