RuneUI on desktop ?

Postby nagual » 24 Apr 2015, 15:05

Hello!

I have RuneAudio on my Raspberry and it rocks!

Now I am trying to setup RuneUI only, on a desktop machine with mpd already running.
I got the RuneUI from github, but all I got is a white screen when trying to access it.

How could setup RuneUI on a linux machine running debian?

Hi nagual,

How could setup RuneUI on a linux machine running debian?

from the docs:
RuneAudio is a free and open source software with one specific objective: to transform an embedded platform (a cheap, silent and low-consumption mini-PC) into an Hi-Fi digital music player.
and
RuneAudio runs on RuneOS, a custom built GNU Linux operating system, based on Arch Linux.

As you can see the UI is only one half of the system.
Without the necessary computer and linux skills it is nearly impossible to get it working.

Now I am trying to setup RuneUI only, on a desktop machine

What is your intention in trying this?

Hello,

I have a mac, and use mpd to manage and play a huge library on a thunderbolt external drive.

I would love to use RuneUI to control the mpd on my mac.

Given the nature of open source software, I believe it is a good idea.
