Kernel 5.4.77
- Available in today's updated image files, not by Addons update.
- No needs for any current R+R e6 to reflash the SD cards unless for the character LCD feature or driver issues.
- Manually update with pacman -Syu is OK except RPi 1 and Zero that need onboard audio.

Please try the updated image files from the first post.
- RPi 4, 3, and 2: kernel 5.4.77
- RPi 1 and Zero: kernel 5.4.72 (5.4.77 has some issues with onboard audio.)

By the way, anyone with a character LCD, please try them as well. (System > GPIO Devices)

rern

thanks :D the kali and piano 2.1 now work after the upgrade to kernel 5.4.77-1

Hi rern,

Since the 20201121 update my webradio station names in the library list are being overwritten by the artist last played.

Done that last thing, no audio possible

Code: Select all
RuneAudioI:~  #  mpc play
http://playerservices.streamtheworld.com/api/livestream-redirect/JOE_TOP2000.mp3
[paused]  #2/2   0:00/0:00 (0%)
volume: n/a   repeat: off   random: off   single: off   consume: off
ERROR: Failed to open "rpi-dac" (alsa); Failed to open ALSA device "hw:0,0": Device or resource busy

On RPi3b...

Even rune rebuild (create-rune.sh) to no avail.

Mpd page doesn't allow audio buffer change (only true or false is written in mpd.conf)
LCD char display only uses i2c even though GUI indicates gpio possible. Needless to say nothing happens on connected and working (Pydpiper) display.

Bug for me not changing system time, audio i2s change is not reflected on system page, nor is change written in /srv/http/data/system/ files.... still present.
Luckily boot config remains untouched as well

No luck in past week to get snapserver/snapclient to run in R+Re6 systemchain.

Not all is well....

LCD char looks promising, though pinout should be adaptable.... My dac amp has the hardware on board but probably different pins....

Similar effect here: Station name emptied after usage.

Hi

I can confirm R101 / Klassikmann's findings re webradio station names being replaced however it only appears to happen where the station in question provides the necessary information in the link/stream to display current track / artwork etc. So UK BBC stations like Radio2 are apparently NOT affected but GOLD is. I am currently using these links for these stations:

BBC Radio 2
http://as-hls-uk-live.bbcfmt.s.llnwi.ne ... ewind.m3u8

GOLD
http://media-ice.musicradio.com:80/Gold

It seems that the webradio file names in /srv/http/data/webradios are not affect so

BBC Radio2 file name is:
'http:||as-hls-uk-live.bbcfmt.s.llnwi.net|pool_904|live|uk|bbc_radio_two|bbc_radio_two.isml|bbc_radio_two-audio=320000.norewind.m3u8'

and currently contains just the name of the radio station ie 'BBC Radio 2'

whereas the GOLD file name is:
'http:||media-ice.musicradio.com:80|Gold'

and before the problem occurs it also just contains the station name 'Gold', however once the problem occurs it gets changed to contain the track artist/name and the stream info :

Eurythmics
16 bit 44.1 kHz 48 kbit/s

Editing the 'faulty' webradio name entry (back to 'GOLD' in this case) using the GUI results in the file content being changed to:

GOLD
16 bit 44.1 kHz 48 kbit/s

BTW I have only applied the 20201121 update but NOT yet updated the Kernel (as per Rern's note above) and this is occurring on my PI 3B+

Hope this helps

After today's update, there's a link for wiring info. (Tap the question icon.)
