I prefer this way too, my music playing at the local sample rate of the file, with no upsampling.

Yep, I'm with ya on that! LOL!

If your SSID is 'The Hole', it will try to connect to 'The'. Even the scan for wifi button only picks up 'The'.

I typically connect via hardwire so I forget to bring it up. It might be this way since Frank's .4 or even earlier versions.

I know I've connected via wifi in the past but updated files via ssh (it has been a long time ago).

To be fixed by next update.

Hi,

For me, it is only one problem remaining in the e6 release, 20201108.

I cannot get any album thumbnails on the Library Album view.
If I press the Album Thumbnail button > Ok, it updates for a long time but then the result is the same after completion, only the R icons. Inside the album, the thumbnail cover art is fine.
Am I doing something wrong, or is still on the TODO list?

I see that you store your music on a NAS. Is the NAS share writable by RA as the coverart images will be stored within the NAS folder for each album and so RA needs write access to the NAS share to create the album thumbnali.

Ok, this explains it.
I am using NFS, so I need to know what is the user ID of the RPI process that need rw access?

Yes. I use NFS as well and struggled to find out what this is. I think this may be 'nobody' for me (I use OMV 5.x as my NAS/NFS server) but I think I got away with it eventually by putting 'rw' in the NFS Source options in RA and then playing about with the OMV permissions of the shared folder until I got it to work. If you come up with a more scientific answer I would be glad to hear of it.

Chris,

The community will I am sure have opinions on this, but here is what I did:

I checked the processes on the RP and found:
563 root 20 0 4436 3264 2136 S 1.7 0.3 0:11.41 albumthumbnail.
which tells me that the process that need access is owned by root.

To allow root access to the server from the RP, I changed /etc/exports:
/home/bnilsson/Musik HiFiBerryDigiLAN(rw,no_root_squash,sync,no_subtree_check)
The "no_root_squash" option allows root on the RP to act as root on the server. This sounds dangerous, and it probably is.
Restart the nfs server by "/ect/init.d/nfs-kernel-server restart".
Reboot the RP.

Now the thumbnails can be rebuilt.

it is probably a good idea to remove the "no_root_squash" option in /etc/exports when all is over and done.

PS: The new thumbnail files (cover.jbp, coverart.jpg, and thumb.jpg) created by Rune are owned by root.
To do a final cleanup, I changed the ownership of all files in my Music storage to myself.

Hi,
New to Re6.
Previous problem solved by starting anew. Wifi problems though...

Hi all

I have a question about the snapserver/client option.

I have 2 identical R+R6 setups on different pi's, but can't figure out how to get this feature to work properly. Does anyone use this feature successfully.

I can start the server fine on one pi, but the client side never gets any data.

On server side I have Error reading message header of length 0: End of file errors
And missing chunk errors on client side.
Server sees connection attempt before throwing above error.

I played with conf buffer, timeout settings but no stable connection possible.
Both systems are on wifi fwiw.

Next bug is that after latest nov updates, I cannot change settings
Of i2s and time in system page, no setting is saved. Manual edit of relevant files in data/system dir and boot/config solves this but still...
Strangely enough it is possible to change system hostname successfully from there...

Sorry can't help you with snapserver/client as I don't use these.

I have no problem changing and saving I2S, Time, Bluetooth etc on my PI3B with Ra+R e6 with update 20201108 applied.

Sorry
