Rern

Thanks for this new version which I downloaded earlier today and did the following:

1. Backup existing RA-Re3 using System Backup
2. Flash a new SD card with RA-Re4 and booted PI3B with this image
3. Restored backup file saved in (1) above.
4. Reboot (not sure if I needed to do this) but I did anyway

All seems OK except:

a) System came up on final boot using 'Device - On-board Headphones' by default, easily switched back to IQAudIODAC, all other settings seem to have been restored correctly.

b) like CMH714, some of my web radios are not working (eg http://minimserver:9790/minimstreamer/*/D_R2 - BBC national radio via Minimserver setup - I know the previous discussions about using this but it works for me) but http://str1.sad.ukrd.com:80/eagle is working.

One other really minor point - would it be possible to get a version of the slideshow you published are part of the e4 release notification with the image change rate slowed down or with a click to move (forwards/backwards) added so that I can more easily see all the features of this release ?

Thanks

Should have said http://minimserver:9790/minimstreamer/*/D_R2 plays Ok in RA-e3 and VLC and direct url of direct URL for same station (http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/ma ... o_two.m3u8) also plays OK.

Hi, I'm new but have been looking at this forum since 2018. I have used various versions of Rune Audio and today decided to try yours. Hardware used is RPi 3B+ with Innomaker DAC HAT(Allo Boss DAC copy.)

I downloaded and install a fresh copy with no restore (I only listen to a couple of radio stations) and the following are some feedback so far:

1. UI and ease of use is better than previous versions.
2. I find that the sound volume seem softer than previous version and the sound quality now is fuller and slightly less bright as before. (Then again, it could be noisy mains or my imagination.)
3. I could not get the "Bit Perfect" (Enable) to work, it resort back to disable state after clicking and a pop show enabling.
4. Spotify Connect does not work. Spotify app showed the RPi/Rune as a device but could not connect to it. Judging from the last line below, it could be my network problem

* spotifyd.service - A spotify playing daemon
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/spotifyd.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)

Will keep tinkering with this new release.

Is there a way to set wireless profile information or the backup file on the image before trying to boot from it? I run rune over wifi and without a screen -- would be nice if I could just swap the card without having to move the pi to somewhere with lan and/or keyboard and display.

I am loving all of the updates -- THANK YOU!!!!

Pre-configure Wi-Fi connection
3 alternatives:

1. From existing
- Backup the profile file from /etc/netctl .
- Rename it to wifi then copy it to BOOT before power on.

2. Edit template file - name and password
- Rename wifi0 in BOOT to wifi .
- Edit SSID and Key.

3. Generate a complex profile - static IP, hidden SSID
- With Pre-configure Wi-Fi connection link in the 1st post.
- Save it in BOOT .

Rern

Thanks for the information about the slideshow, that makes life a lot simpler.

I have also resolved the issue with my 'faulty' web radios. In Re3 I was able to use the url http://minimserver:9790/minimstreamer/*/D_R2 however in Re4 I need to use http://minimserver.lan:9790/minimstreamer/*/D_R2 or the IP number (http://192.168.86.70:9790/minimstreamer/*/D_R2) as for some reason Re4 no longer resolves just the server name ('minimserver') in a web radio url. This strange because in my Sources screen I CAN set up my NFS Device server name to be 'CMHomeNAS1' which does resolve to 'cmhomenas1.lan' or 192.168.86.250 correctly. As you can see both minimserver and cmhomenas1 are on the same network and domain.

Shouldn't there be consistency as to how server names are resolved ?

Thanks

Rern

It appears that my Re4 installation is trying to resolve network addresses using a DNS server at 192.168.86.1 but in fact my DNS server is actually at 192.168.86.10. How can I correct the DNS Server settings to point to the correct DNS server.

Thanks
