TESTING AND FEEDBACKS
As for the 0.3-alpha, we'll need you precious feedback to improve our work again and again.
We are going to use this thread to collect the feedbacks ONLY for this release: please post them in a polite and constructive way, explaining the problems in the detail. We are also asking you you to attach the debug info (as explained below) if you encounter more complex problems that involve the whole system.

We also encourage you to use GitHub's issue management for RuneUI to help us keep track of the existing bugs and contribute with the future development.

HOW TO COLLECT AND POST DEBUG INFO
  1. In the RuneUI, go to MENU > Debug;
  2. Click the "COPY DATA TO CLIPBOARD" button;
  3. Go to http://pastebin.com and paste the debug output in the "New Paste" textarea. Leave the default options (Syntax Highlighting: None, Paste Expiration: Never, Paste Exposure: Public), give a name to il (e.g. RuneAudio debug info) and submit.
  4. Copy the url of the submitted Pastebin (e.g. http://pastebin.com/dL1k9irT) and include it in your post here in the forum.

Congrats on this long awaited release! Been following this on a daily basis. Great stuff.

Just curious how I will put the image on an SD when using linux. I can't seem to find the previous instruction for .2 beta. Can I just use unetbootin? I have no windows around (haven't for years) , except those in the walls of my house ;-)

Once I know the preferred way I will be happy to do a writeup in the Docs.

Edit: Just read the inspiration source. I will use that.....

Yes, that section in the docs has to be updated, taking inspiration from the linked resource.

Bumpy ride.....

Well what can I say, the implementation of features is quite great! I do however run into some trouble that is hard to debug (can't use the webinterface during my problems..). I have until now seen MPD lock up (spinning connect on the webinterface) more often then ever before (I used the apha since release and it has never caused trouble once.). Simpy changing tracks can cause it, moving through the webinterface, but especially when changing settings for MPD.

I can still log in through SSH, but issueing the reboot command has it lock up completely. Once I killed mpd with -9 and after that it did reboot normally. Conclusion that MPD tends to get stuck really bad and holds back everything.

Gotta admit, I am running this from WIFI for the first time. I see most troubles when using the TP-LINK WN725N. At least it does work for the first time on a raspberry distro put of the box, but nevertheless it seems like I have more trouble using that.

Also when using wifi (I used the edimax as well) after boot up is hasn't linked with the network drives, and doesn't appear to retry linkeing them after the network is up and running. Not a big deal when de RPI is left on.

Will probably retry from scratch.... but i'm wondering if others have similar experiences

When I play 24 bit 192KHZ music, CPU usage is around 60 - 70% when I execute "TOP" command. Is this normal?

Hello Rune :)

Thanks for this release !

I don't have the issues above. My setup works well with webradios, on a B rev2 with Hifiberry Digi.

BuT :) ...

I have trouble updating the music db after adding a couple of NFS shares which worked well with 0.3 alpha.
- Clicking on "rebuild db" does nothing. "Library" turns to "Updating" for 2 seconds, then back, the page takes 3 seconds to go back to previous state. And it has no effect on the content of the library itself (empty)
- running "mpd update" as root in ssh returns:
Code: Select all
errno: Failed to open update: No such file or directory

I tried various sets of mount options
- nfsvers=3,ro this worked in 0.3alpha
- rw
- asyn
- intr
- various combination of the above
Each of those where ok by the RuneUI (green tick after saving mount). But no database!

Code: Select all
[root@runeaudio ~]# df
Filesystem             1K-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root                6327928    810376   5178256  14% /
devtmpfs                  242780         0    242780   0% /dev
tmpfs                     247000         0    247000   0% /dev/shm
tmpfs                     247000       300    246700   1% /run
tmpfs                     247000         0    247000   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs                     247000         4    246996   1% /tmp
/dev/mmcblk0p1             91962     51914     40048  57% /boot
192.168.1.4:/data/flac 959890448 391667072 568223376  41% /mnt/MPD/NAS/New

I'm lost.
Debug:

Edit:
last try tonight with those option:
_netdev,intr,noatime,nfsvers=3,async
same result

I have one more issue..

Something is not right with DNS. I have to enter the IP in my webbrowser.
Browsing to http://runeaudio is a no go..

With Volumio it was no problem.

Yes, this version have some bugs compared to 0.3 alpha:
- host name runeaudio/ is not recognized
- when I look for assigned DNS address (192.168.1.139) and try to add Sources, it freezes and doesn't want to boot again.
