Rune Audio not showing or allowing rebuild of library

Postby CityCentreFox » 25 May 2019, 10:54

Good Morning All

I have just tried to play some music and my library isn't showing any music. Also when I try to rebuild it or update it, it does the update/rebuild but then still shows nothing.

I have checked the drive and that is fine.

Has my image corrupted?

I have the same problem on all my players. Yesterday everything was fine.
Since all the players are showing exactly the same symptoms I suspect that the problem is related to one of the on-line services which Rune uses.
Anyway, I am working on it. Not much time available today, hopefully I can put a fix together tomorrow.

Hi Janui

Thank you for your response. I appreciate all your efforts, especially to my previous queries.

Also I previously asked on another thread about the rune audio app not connecting to a Sky Q router. I am not sure if you had seen it?

When I open the app all I get is a blank screen with a little half android logo in the top left. The app worked perfectly with my previous Sky router.

I have tried both 2.4 & 5 Ghz wireless and the problem is still there.

Is this a known issue with the Sky Q router? I can connect to the player with Microsoft Edge using 192. etc.

As always kind regards

My runes all came back to life. Don't know what happened, but I got spinning discs on all 3 at home, here. Then about 2pm, they started working again.

Mines are still facing the issue.
And yes thanks Janui for taking time to have a look at this issue.

Hi Everyone,

The problem, at least with my setup, seems to be that something (one of the online services?) has simply become very slow - the good news is that Rune's behaviour appears to return to normal after a delay of about 20 seconds or so. The delay also happens when switching between the 'Playback' and 'Library' views.

Janui: it would be helpful to know which online services are used by Rune - could you share some information about that, please? Thanks in advance for your efforts to fix this!

Peace and friendship,
englishtim

Hi Everyone,

This problem has been traced to an outage at last.fm. Rune uses last.fm API's for various features. When internet is not available Rune works fine, but when these services are available but do not work properly Rune fails. The good news is that the service is up and running again. So, everything seems to be working. I intend to modify the code so that it will be more resilient to possible future outages.

In addition, last.fm is no longer providing album art or artist images. These disappeared a couple of weeks ago, but it seems to be a permanent change, see here: https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topi ... reply-list In all cases a ‘star’ image is provided instead of the expected album or artist artwork. We are working on a solution for this.

Hi All

Just to let you know that mine is now running again albeit slightly clunky. As englishtim previously posted you just have to be a bit patient on connection.

Skipping between playback and library is a sporadic regarding times but it gets there eventually.

Any posters give any insight to my connection issues regarding the app and Sky Q router?

Again Regards
