Rotel RDD-1580 on the way

Postby cmh714 » 07 Aug 2014, 16:57

Should be getting here in the next several days. Had email with one of their engineers, and he has it working with RaspyFi so I am reasonably sure I can get it working with Rune.

Will post back on it after it arrives.

Arrived last night at 6:30pm and had it sort of up and running in no time at all.... I am having issues with the DAC getting a clean feed from the Pi.

For the most part, 44.1 plays normal, but anything at a higher rate has clicks, pops, and white noise, that gets worse as you go up in bitrate. 88.2 and 176.4 dont play at all, just a ton of white noise.

Any help would be most gratefully appreciated....I can post debug if anyone thinks that will help.

I am going to try v0.2 to see if its any better, since we know there are issues with 0.3 and higher bitrates....will also try some other ditros...

That always helps :) Please post it like suggested here.
If you have another SD lying around please test it also with 0.2-beta, that would let us gather more infos about the behaviour of sore USB receivers with different kernels.

Try to use this fix.

Let me know if it works.

And as last resource you could try the FIQ_FSM USB fix suggested by tux some time ago.

Thanks ACX....basically thats what I was going to try....anything and everything :)

Will keep you posted...and since I have 6 SD cards at the ready, I was definitely going to burn 0.2 again. Right now, I am enjoying a '77 Grateful Dead soundboard, but will be testing later.

was also seeing if amixer had any options for me to try....

thx again!

It seems that you have some USB-interface issues...

Code: Select all
[   90.310195] ieee80211 phy0: rt2800usb_entry_txstatus_timeout: Warning - TX status timeout for entry 8 in queue 2
[   90.316544] ieee80211 phy0: rt2800usb_txdone: Warning - Got TX status for an empty queue 2, dropping

Try to set nrpacks=1.

I see that...nrpacks=1 for snd-usb-audio unfortunately did not work...still trying though.
