Hi flega,

- disable I2S on the settings page
- delete the file "/etc/modprobe.d/snd-soc-pcm512x.conf"
- add this
Code: Select all
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac

to your config.txt

BTW your debug data looks good beside this messages:
Code: Select all
[   45.568491] cfg80211: Timeout while waiting for CRDA to reply, restoring regulatory settings
[   45.568520] cfg80211: Restoring regulatory settings
[   45.568596] cfg80211: Kicking the queue

Please try this:
- install crda
Code: Select all
pacman -S crda

- select your country code in /etc/conf.d/wireless-regdom or choose 00 for world wide

Can't update crda, something is wrong with this package. I'll try this later, but most important is that I have working Zero with Rune on it playing. Thanks again to all!!

Hi all!

awesome work! After two days of trying to install arch, pimusicbox and so on I found this forum post!

It's working well and I shrinked the image for usage with SD Cards <8,5GB.
Does anybody know a good side for uploading a 1,7GB file?

No. The image provided was greater than 8GB with 6GB unused space. To flash it to a 4 or 8GB card I had to shrink the partitions and delete the unused space from the image.

@hondagx35: Hi Frank ! Finally I had the RPi0 now. I have no any issue at all to flash the image on a microSD card 16GB. I tried running that it played perfectly. No issue with LAN even the wifi dongle connection.

The issue I had now are:

- Playing WAV perfectly
- DSD / Hi-Res / Flac are very distorted via usb to external DAC

The bebug of my case is attached from here http://pastebin.com/g3qwyQbF
As well as the config.txt here http://pastebin.com/UGRsYcRX that I added to activate the HiFiBerry DAC that I am going to test the sound decoded via I2S very soon. For this, I will keep you posted for any further.

Thanks for your attention and any advice is highly appreciated.

I would to say my thanks to @hpeter for his contribution.

Yes that ENC28J60 Ethernet card is what I used. They are available from a variety of manufacturers. Note that some of them have different pin numbering to others. You should not have to resort to using one of these. You should be able to get wifi working simply by setting up the configuration files correctly. However if you do have one handy it is a very easy way to get connectivity into a pi zero for fault finding.

Wifi worked perfectly for me but I wish to try to see any impact from any corner :) so I tried with ENC28J60 as per your advice that it connected perfectly as well. I will use it in case making diy + a design case for RPi0. Thanks buddy !

I've just installed runeaudio on a Pi Zero using this thread. Very happy - I spent rather too long trying to get Volumino to work - and this was comparitively simple - at least the OS is standard underneath, and vi hasn't been removed ;)

I used the image uploaded here by hpeter.
Here is the link to the image file which is zipped using gzip:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/kzy8txlqadxly48/20160618_runeaudio_raspberry1_raspberryZero.img.gz

The SHA256 hash of the file is: d303bbb82f8171d7e529ace2bd05dff390fdd4c9726f808c2e2e4a43079447f2
http://www.mediafire.com/download/c846hxue9sfwr3c/20160618_runeaudio_raspberry1_raspberryZero.img.gz.sha256

As others have said it's actually too big for an 8Gb card. Took a while to work out how to shrink it - I used dd on OSX
Code: Select all
dd bs=512 count=3481600 if=20160618_runeaudio_raspberry1_raspberryZero.img of=mynewrune.img

I've also added the extra config.txt items to speed up the zero to 1Ghz, and max usb current:
Code: Select all
max_usb_current=1
arm_freq=1000
gpu_freq=300
core_freq=400
over_voltage=6
force_turbo=1

First boot I used a screen and keyboard so I could configure my wireless connection correctly.

I then configured my IQaudio PiDACzero

It all appears to work, except airplay. I can see runeaudio in my airplay menus on phone/ipad, but I get no audio from the speaker. I can play a radio stream, and music from an OSX share.

Debug info here http://pastebin.com/tamv4WKA

Other things:
Should I try and update this with a nightly build? Don't want to break it all now it's working, but when I login I get
Code: Select all
RuneOs: 0.3-beta (build 20141029)
RuneUI: 1.3
Hw-env: RaspberryPi

I have the CRDA error (what is it??)
trying
Code: Select all
pacman -S crda
give file retrieval errors - see http://pastebin.com/vhHmFPYW
