How to extend OS disk to more than 4gb?

Postby MusicLover22 » 24 Jun 2022, 18:33

Arch Linux that comes with Rune Audio is missing the crucial command "pvcreate" so i cannot use more than the 4gb the rune audio allocates of my memory card, very bad. How can i get pvcreate installed on this OS so i can allocate the remaining storage of my sdcard?

parted is installed, fdisk is installed, so i have created a filesystem on the remaining space that is unallocated, now i just need to give it a mount path, which i cannot because pvcreate doesn't exist.

i tried pacman -S lvm2 but:

Code: Select all
root@music1(rw):~# pacman -S lvm2

So what exactly can i do? Thanks.

think i solved this by changing mirror or running pacman -Syu but now it cannot run pvcreate anyway:

Code: Select all
root@music1(rw):/# pvcreate
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by pvcreate)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.28' not found (required by pvcreate)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.33' not found (required by pvcreate)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.33' not found (required by /usr/lib/libdevmapper-event.so.1.02)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libncursesw.so.6: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libreadline.so.8)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.28' not found (required by /usr/lib/libreadline.so.8)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.30' not found (required by /usr/lib/libsystemd.so.0)
pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.28' not found (required by /usr/lib/libsystemd.so.0)

pvcreate: /usr/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by /usr/lib/libzstd.so.1)

This OS is an absolute mess :/ wish it was better, very difficult. Will reinstall everything and look for another way to utilize my entire sd card, i want to make a simple rsync script that moves music to the rune audio sdcard over night rahter then streaming it from the NAS and having the disks spinning 24/7 because it has to access a file at 20kb/s ....

Just came back to apologize for my stupidity, there is actually an faq about how to extend the sd card here and it works fine.
