[SOLVED] MPD Database Update not picking up ALAC m4a files

Postby tc-fi » 24 Jan 2014, 00:22

Hi,

II've mounted a folder located on a Win7 box that contains some Flac and ALAC files and only the Flac files show up after Database Update.

Same problem is posted here rpi-runeaudio-0-2beta-does-not-recognized-m4a-t71.html

The reason is ffmpeg decoder is required to play m4a and runeaudio has it disabled by default inside in /etc/mpd.conf -> workaround: you just need to enable it and update mpd database. Be aware that any custom modification to mpd.conf will disable the web gui editor, that's why it's best to make all the changes you need first then edit this file later.

We left ffmpeg decoder disabled by default because we experimented problems with the database update (in some situations it couldn't be completed successfully).
We are going to add the option to manually activate it from the next 0.3 release.

Ah - I found nano and edited the /etc/mpd.conf file.

Restarting to see if it's worked!
