Iqaudio DigiAMP+

Postby otophile » 11 Jul 2017, 19:39

Hi,
I am hoping to use the IQaudio DigiAMP+ with rune but can't find the device overlay in config.txt. Is there a way to add it either using SSH or directly to the SD card?
Thanks,
Adam

Hi otophile,

In order to work, overlays need to be compatable with the kernel version. Support for the Iqaudio DigiAMP+ is included in the following images:
For a Pi B2 or B3: runeaudio-0-4-beta-for-raspberry-pi2-3-t4434.html#p19960
For a Pi A, B, B+, Zero or Zero W: raspberry-pi-zero-support-in-0-4-t3711-70.html#p20577

Hi
Still needing your help Janui.
I downloaded the image, everything works great but I can't figure out how to edit config.txt to enable the Pi-Digiamp.
Do I need to copy something from the overlay folder to config.txt?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi otophile,

For the Pi B2 and B3 no need to edit the config.txt, it should be set up automatically. See: runeaudio-0-4-beta-for-raspberry-pi2-3-t4434.html#p19960 and look for the text "No need to edit config.txt, I2S DAC can be enabled from UI."
For the Pi A, B, B+, Zero or Zero W you can access the config.txt file simply by pluging the SD card into a PC. Part of the SD card is accessable for Windows and Linux and the config.txt file is easy to find. On a Windows machine you can use Notepad to edit the file.

No need to copy files, etc.

Janui

PS It would be handy if you could mention your hardware and image when posting ;)

Hi,
your help is greatly appreciated. I am using the 0-4 beta image you posted above. Board is a pi3. When I open the I2S kernel module in the UI I only see Iqaudio pi-dac, pi-dac+, or digi. Unfortunately none of them will work with the Pi-digiAmp. Volumio has it built in but I don't like it nearly as well as Rune.

Hi otophile,

The IQAudio DigiAmp+ starts up muted so you need to unmute it. Frank has posted excellent step-by-step instructions in the forum:

Hope this helps,

So, went through the procedure to unmute. When I choose IqaudiO digi as the I2s kernel in settings, then reboot, nothing other than onboard audio shows up in MPD. If I choose Pi-Dac+, it shows up in MPD, but I get no output.

or add this to your config.txt:
