Hi ACX,
I already looked at the github repositories (to learn about the Rune architecture and try to get an answer on a question i asked here. The "browsing by cover art" capabilities are still in my mind, so i'm trying to get a good idea on how all the Rune parts work. Now checking MPD db structure and protocol).
On the github repos, I made my way through the php part without much trouble. JS, however, is not my cup of tea (even if i got surprised and interested in the use of websockets). My linux skills are a bit old and rusty (and not audio related, more network related) but still can be useful to test/debug general installation script or an installation cookbook.

In any case, if i can be of any help, i'll be glad to.

Hi Frank,

I am very curious about the cookbook. A friend of mine is about to purchase an "UP board" (see also http://www.up-board.org/) which has same form factor as Raspberry but is Intel based.

Maybe you already have a version for Intel in mind?

Thanks ACX,

If he gets his UP before there is a Intel-rune I will perform a generic Arch install with MPD and spop daemon to get it running for now. Will replace with Rune once available.

Hello everyone,

I am replying to this thread as I don’t want to start a whole other thread on an already well discussed topic.

I have been attempting to get Runeaudio to run on Intel based computer. I understand the desire for Pi (Pi like devices)and I like the concept however I already have an abundance of Intel Atom hardware platform so this means no cost on hardware setup if I can use them.

I have attempted to extrapolate a way to setup x86_64 platform from the old Pi cookbook. Each try goes down in a fiery crash. Rather than posting a bunch of logs and errors I thought I would first ask, has anyone else made progress in getting this work on a x86_64 platform?

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi All,

quite old thread but anyway...
I really love RuneAudio but would like to merge its functionality with MotionEyeOS.
I have tried to install additional packages to RuneOS but while installing new updates RuneAudio gets broken.
I would also like to build RuneAudio on a clean actual ARCH and found OLD Cookbooks.
Is there currently some working scripts to start from beginning?

Thanks again for great OS.

Hi ,

No, you have to wait for the next version.

I have tried to install additional packages to RuneOS but while installing new updates RuneAudio gets broken.

Installing additional packages should not be the problem unless you use "pacman -Syu xxxxx".

On Rune you should use "pacman -Sy xxxx" instead.

Thanks for the replay.
Unfortunately I am not able to install motioneye on RuneOS. There is too many dependencies that is change. I have the feeling that system brakes when I upgrade ICE package.
I would like to ask what is the reason to have extra rune packages installed, e.g. mpd-rune, nginx-rune, samba-rune, ...
I have red that it was some problems with the programs. But is this still valid? It would be great to just install the package from original source and configure it properly.

Thanks.

Pretty please? I am willing to build a 0.4 with current components, but will need a cookbook to do it. From what I read the old cookbook does not work and I do not want to waste my time to give it a go if others have tried and failed. The 2014 release is quite out of date and later DACs do not work with that old release of Arch. I'm building a new DAC board and want to be able to run it on my Pi B+ and have been unsuccessful updating the kernel alone, at least with 4.9.14-1 and a pcm5122 DAC. Seems to work with a pcm5102 but not a 5122.
