I've had a BBB around that I'd been using on and off for over a year. BBB Rev. C
I found that performing this process with the existing microSD image I'd been running off of did not result in a boot-up and DHCP network handshake of the eMMC copied RuneAudio. So I instead grabbed the latest version from beagleboard.org: Debian (BeagleBone, BeagleBone Black - 4GB SD) 2015-03-01 md5: c848627722b7a5f7bc89791cc8949e3b.
Once this was imaged onto a microSD, I followed the process, with the following output:
    Code: Select all
    root@beaglebone:~# mkdir /mnt/foo
    root@beaglebone:~# mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/foo
    root@beaglebone:~# dd bs=1M if=/mnt/foo/RuneAudio_bbb_0.2-beta.img of=/dev/mmcblk1
    1947+0 records in
    1947+0 records out
    2041577472 bytes (2.0 GB) copied, 429.702 s, 4.8 MB/s
    root@beaglebone:~# shutdown -h now

    Broadcast message from root@beaglebone (pts/1) (Wed Aug 12 15:44:07 2015):
The system is going down for system halt NOW!

Upon hard reset, with no microSD or USB cards inserted, it doesn't get an IP from the DHCP server like the BBB image does. It's clearly booting up and flashing its LEDs, but I can't connect. Direct connect via miniUSB also doesn't work.
    Any suggestions? :? :|

Thanks for the brief and comprehensive guide -- as this is the natural thing to want to do on a BBB when using it for RuneAudio in a long term setup... Looking forward to a one-button flash via rune web setup!

Sorry that you are having problems.

Are you sure that the new Rune installed is using the same IP address as Debian? Are you able to log into your router to verify the BBB IP address?
