How to change scaling of Modori

I just got a dsiplay set up and running. Now I need to scale down the display. I'm using the Midori browser. I tried xrandr and that does not work. I tried using

 midori -p -e Fullscreen -a -e zoomin http://localhost

and that also did not work. I was unable to get any more useful info from help: any help appreciated.

So spent a lot of time with no real forward motion. Best I can tell, the scaling functionality of Midori is either gone or no longer works as it did.
I tried -e zoomout and that was not satisfactory. I tried making a midori config and was also unable to get it to work. Works as expected with chromium. I ended up using this line to end the /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc to get it working with chromium:
