FM Radio Streams

Postby Bautar » 27 Feb 2019, 01:57

Hi Team -

I'm a relatively new user but the extensive posts in this forum have been incredibly helpful in addressing my questions, except for my vexing problem with getting FM stream URL's to play. I'm referring to my favorite terrestrial FM radio station websites which have buttons to stream their content so folks can listen when away from home. I'll set up the stations under My WebRadios, put them into the queue, but I can't get them to play. I AM successful in playing stream from stations I load from Dirble and Jamendo

I'm using a Pi 3 with a HiFiBerry Digi and running Ver. 0.5 build janui-20180903-8. Problem is present both in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Windows browsers. Here are a few examples of streams I can't get to run:

Station KDHX.org, stream URL: http://www.radiorethink.com/tuner/?stat ... &stream=hi
Station WDET.org, stream URL: https://player.streamguys.com/wdet/sgplayer/player.php

Any insight in solving this would be greatly appreciated; I'm a RuneAudio evangelist!

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

you have to find the streaming URL.

Try:
http://kdhx-ice.streamguys1.com/live
http://wdet.streamguys1.com/live-aac

Thank you Frank! That works!

For others reading this discussion, when you reach a streaming site from, say, a link on a radio station's home page, you can press <Ctrl>U which opens a new tab showing the source code. From there, do a search for "http" and then you need to look for the streaming URL. I suppose Frank knew to look for the line including "streamguys1" from experience. Very helpful!

Thanks - Ken

The first thing to do is to check the radio station’s website to see whether they make their broadcasts available online. Many radio stations today do. If the station is not available online, check, GlobalTuners - Home This is a site run by volunteers who put their receivers online. Most of the radios are Internet-controlled, so it is possible to tune them to various radio stations. What is a bit hit-or-miss about the site is that there might not be a receiver available that can receive the stations you want to hear.
I am currently reading manga book and I read perfect half manga at mangazuki and I think this is one of the best manga. This is my favourite manga book.
