Is there any update on the Cubox-i? I see the last post in the thread was some time ago. I ask having just ordered 2 CuBox-i4Pros and really hope that rune will run on them! If there is anything I can do to help, do let me know. Cheers, Jeremy.

We have the CuBox-i image almost ready, so we'll release it updated with the 0.4 version code, after the Rpi's one.

I believe the Holy Grail will be the Solid Run Hummingboard as it has coaxial SPDIF. I have one in here [see attachment].

My belief is that almost any embedded device with I2S over HDMI add-on card (given good implementation with good I2S clocks) would be much closer to proverbial audiophile "Holy Grail"...

I2S does not require I2S to SPDIF conversion nor USB transport (and is therefore much "easier on CPU"). I2S transport over HDMI interface introduces less jitter than I2S over ethernet interface and much less jitter than SPDIF transport (most probably because of inherent HDMI differential signal transfer).

Latest, not only ToTL, DACs do have I2S over HDMI inputs. Too bad there are no Rasberry, BBB, UDOO, Hummingboard... or any other embedded system's add-ons that give you I2S over HDMI output. That + Rune + nice I2S over HDMI capable DAC would make an excellent audiophile grade transport.

...just my few € cents...

If it's the holy grail or not. It does look nice!

Just noticed there is now a cubietruck image available. Is there any progress on making Cubox or Cubox-i images available? Even a 0.3beta image would be helpful seeing as 0.4 is still being polished for release.... It really is a wonderful project you have developed and I'm super keen to get it working again on my cubox (the earlier build I managed got corrupted during a powercut and I haven't been able to get it built and working since....)

CuBox and CuBox-i will receive the 0.4 update right after the Rpi release.
