Hi Tee,

Can you supply some additional configuration information please?

Example:
DAC+ or DAC+ Pro?
Pi power supply used
WiFi, or wired Ethernet?
WiFi dongle model #
Bluetooth enabled or disabled
Buffer size used, etc...

thanks for the speedy respons Pete !

Answers :
DAC+Pro ( - your right to mention this:-) )
standart Pi3 psu, thats 5volt, 2 amp
I already switched with the previous psu that was attached to mi RPI2, same result.
Problem is there with fixed ethernet as wel as with dhcp wifi.
I think no dongle is needed for RPI3 wifi, seems to be build in ?

I already experimented with changing the most meaningfull settings a dosen time, nothing helped.
I do have teh feeling ( more a guess) it has something to do with volume control, though i am not sure ....just a feeling based on the fact that with volume control on software, it seems to be less ... but just slightly...

Yes, WiFi is built-in, sorry. There was an issue with Bluetooth and DAC+ Pro. I believe this was fixed by Frank, in the latest image for the Pi3, but not in the earlier one. So, first thing I would say is to check the date of the image you are using, just in case. Look in Menu > Credits, top of the screen, "release version: 0.4 <build and date>"

Since the same problem exists using WiFi and wired ethernet, one can assume the connection is not the issue, but you could check for dropped packets anyway, using ifconfig. Some negative things have been posted about the onboard WiFi in other forums.

Can't completely exclude the PSU, but if it is 5V 2A, not the likely culprit.

My version seems to be :
release version: 0.4 (build: beta-20160313)

I am pretty sure i have no connection problems Pete, since i have a (older) RPI playing on the first floor, playing streams and music from my LAN, without any probs .... wish it was that simple :-(

on your request :

I am pretty sure the latest image is dated 2016 3 21, but I am NOT sure when the fix for the DAC+ Pro was put in. Frank may chime in about that, if not, you will have to ask in the Pi 3 thread, or just do a search in that thread for the DAC+ Pro issues.

In any case, make sure that whatever image you use has the fix b/f you waste any more time!

Hi all,

I am pretty sure the latest image is dated 2016 3 21

That is right, you can find the image here.
Please also read this.

but I am NOT sure when the fix for the DAC+ Pro was put in

"The fix" is only a kernel update and it is in the above mentioned image.

Hi Pete,

I am using CLAC with Pi 2 and Pi Zero without any hassle. Using precompiled kernels provided by http://www.horus.com/~hias/cirrus-driver.html as well as self-compiled kernels from the same source.

Cheers,

Christoph

Hi All,

Having the same problem when playing DSD file. no issue on standard CD track up to 192/24bits.

Tried changing USB cable, amending Rsize and Wsize, unfortunately issue persisted.

Any help is much appreciated.

Equipment list:
R Pi2 (streaming from NAS)
Musical Paradise MP-D2 DAC via USB
