B+ and HiFiberry

Postby kalda341 » 19 Oct 2014, 08:41

I've tried a few times to get the 0.2 or 0.3 to boot, without any success. I just get a flicker of light and then solid red. The partition mmcblk0p3 seems to be corrupt, seeing as I can't mount it on my PC.
VolumIO works fine, but I'd rather be using Rune. Anyone know what I need to do to get it to boot? And then assuming I can get it to boot, whether I'd have any luck running the HiFiberry (I'm alright with rebuilding the kernel.)

I would try a fresh download of 0.3 beta and burning it on a different SD card.

I just tried this. Partitions are no longer corrupt, so I think the first download must have failed but gz didn't pick up on it.
Still have the same boot issues though :/

I also don't have another SD card to test with.

Have you got ethernet connected?
What power supply do you have?

Ethernet and wireless. Just connected to a server running next to it. I would say it is unlikely it's the PSU considering it runs other distros fine.

Are the ethernet lights flashing?

They weren't.
Fixed it by writing zeros to the entire SD card before flashing. Possible bug - trying to mount partitions that are broken? Anyway, fixed.
Thanks heaps.
