airplay fails

Postby tkintenn » 10 May 2014, 16:42

From my ipad I can use airplay to send music to my rasbmc pi. When I choose the rune device nothing happens. If the rune is playing an MP3 it will go silent for a minute then the music starts coming out of my ipad again and the rune continues to play the Mp3.

Any ideas?

Rune pi is plugged in via ethernet and I can control it over the network.

I'm having exactly the same issue, tried 3 ios devices and different ios 7 firmwares. I have tried to enable ipv6 (as some have suggested for shairport) but cannot see how to do this on Runeaudio implementation of linux. Anyone out there try to help?

Hi,
thanks for your feedbacks.
Tomorrow I will test again the airplay feature. I'm now working on a new build of the v03-alpha image, with some fixes, and surely I want to include the Airplay fixes.
Stay tuned.

Bye.

Yesterday I've made some tests.
In my setup AirPlay feature seems to work pretty well.

My tests:

OK - iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2, app used = YouTube Player).
OK - iPhone 3Gs (iOS 6.1.6, app used = YouTube Player).
OK - AirFoil (from Windows 8.1 client, app used = VLC).

As you can see, I've only some outdated Apple devices, but the iOS of my iPhone 4 should work in the same way as the most recent Apple devices.

One thing that I've noticed in my tests is that one of my devices has started with zero volume. I had to increase the volume with + button on the iPhone before to be able to listen something from my speakers.
