0.3 Beta on Udoo schedule

Postby taizen » 30 Oct 2014, 22:48

Hi ACX,
You have done a great job with the 0.3 on Rasberry, congratulations.
I am actually testing all the features.
But I have also an Udoo platform for having a better sound, I have bought it before Rasp B+.
When do you think you will be able to launch this new release, because it is more friendly to have the same interface (and more) for all my streamers.

Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Hi taizen,
The credit for this release is not only mine, it mostly belongs instead to Orion who did the "dirty" job of rebuilding the system almost from scratch :)

We plan to port the 0.3-beta on all the supported platforms soon, and UDOO it's among them of course.

Hi taizen, Kilgore,
we are now working on armv7 platforms porting.
The base distro is almost complete for these platforms:

    1. BeagleBoneBlack
    2. Cubox-i
    3. Cubox (the old one)
    4. Cubietruck (thanks to Frank Friedmann)
    5. UDOO
    6. Utilite

slightly delayed, for these platforms:

    1. pcDuino
    2. IBOX

Now we have to do some testing and platform specific configurations (BOTIC driver integration on BBB for example), then pack the image and publish on SF.

Stay tuned.

Simone.

Great news Orion. If you want a volunteer to help test the release and find bugs on an old style Cubox then I'm happy to oblige.

Great news!!! I am also very excited to confirm that you are working on a release for the UDOO platform.

I think UDOO can be a great alternative as a streaming platform and am very much looking forward to enjoy the great Rune Audio in UDOO.

Many thanks for all your hard work.

Check out the forth post UGO, the Rune team is still working on the Udoo version......I'm impatient too, but I just keep reminding myself that the longer they take, the more bugs will have been ironed out. I'm sure it will be soon and well worth the wait. :)
