Hi tyman,

I found that the default orientation of the waveshare screen was in landscape mode, i.e., 90. I changed to 270 to flip the screen 180 degrees.

My tutorial was vague in Step 7 about including the lines in /etc/modules-load.d/raspberrypi.conf that Frank mentioned; make sure you include them with either rotate=90 or 270. Also, you might try this in /boot/config.txt:

Code: Select all
dtoverlay=waveshare35a-overlay.dtb,rotate=270

Hope this helps,
Rod

thank you for the response..

Apologies, maybe I am not describing my problem properly. The LCD can be rotated with changing "rotate= " in /boot/config.txt

But I will like it to be displayed in "landscape" mode as picture below but it is displaying in "portrait" mode regardless. In our web-browser, we can change the "display mode" by changing the window size.

Hi tyman,

I think the problem has to do with either the zoom level or the size of the fonts. Rune has been optimized for the Official Raspberry Pi 7" screen. As described in this post http://www.runeaudio.com/forum/support-for-7-touchscreen-monitor-for-raspberry-pi-t2868-30.html#p10244, you might try commenting out this line in /root/.config/midori/config

Code: Select all
#user-stylesheet-uri=file:///root/.local/share/midori/styles/local-styles.css

Hi tyman,

or adapting the zoomfactor in the file Rod mentioned:
Code: Select all
zoom-level=0.77567797899246216

Very nice, tomorrow I will have a display like that to test, let's see if it will work fine. Nice acrylic box, custom made or it can be bought on any seller?
