Is that the only way to use Spotify with runeaudio?

Currently only Spotify Connect Fornoth chroot works with RuneAudio.

I tried other ways but failed.

Ok, thanks for the information.

Apparently Volumio is currently the only player for Rpi that supports Spotify directly from it.

Want to say thanks! Just downloaded and imaged to an SD card. Works very good along with Addons UI.
I noticed that soxr is enabled by default, what does it do?
My system is a RBPi3, USB DAC (smsl m8), then to schiit preamplifier and amplifier.
both Spotify connect and tidal via BubbleUPNP work as expected. My local NAS mounts without problems and DSDs sounds better than the previous 0.4b; as for flacs I can't seem to notice any difference. Apart from the longer boot time, I've noticed this is working just fine and sound all around very good.
Cheers from Mexico

Hi alecs123,
Thanks for trying 0.5.
alecs123 wrote:I noticed that soxr is enabled by default, what does it do?
Normally SoXr will not do anything. But if MPD decides to do some resampling it will use SoXr instead of its very poor built in resampler. You cannot switch MPD resampling off, it just works when the required, e.g. when input bitrate is not supported by the output device.
alecs123 wrote:Apart from the longer boot time…
If you upgrade to the latest version by doing a git pull (see the first post in this thread) boot time is much faster.

Hello
I connect 24 inch display to raspberry pie 3B.
I like a screen saver screen (?) very much. It's because album art and artist art are judged by one screen.
But when the song name indicated on the album art (It's blue and is shown.) indicates it by a Japanese font, it's lacked on the font.
Is there a way to do a font with this song name a little small?

Hi,
I have downloaded runeAudio onto my Raspberry Pi 3B. I read in the features that it now had Bluetooth support. I was wondering if anyone could help me with connecting my BT headphones to runeAudio, as I'm unsure of how to? Cheers

Hi Clayton,

The original Bluetooth tests were carried out on the Pi1 image for the Pi Zero/B+. Even though the required packages are installed on the Pi2 image and they should be the same, I have not been able to get it to work on the Pi 2 or Pi 3 models.

Hi there,

Finally installed 0.5b, pulled the upgrade (to v5) and installed the add ons menu. I got a RPI 3B rocking a HiFiBerry DAC - RCA+. Most of the things work as expected. Thanks for keeping RA alive! Although, I got some questions:
- I can't change the soundscard to HifiBerry, it stays on PiFi(-something...), any suggestions?
- Booting time seems to be way longer (still after pulling the upgrades) in comparison to 0.4b is this going to be reduced in upcoming upgrades?
- I know there is a changelog around and all but as a noob I can't find any visual or functional differences compared to 0.4b. Can anyone reply in simple words what is changed and upgraded?

Thanks in advance,

Simon

Hi vennesch,
Thanks for trying 0.5b.
vennesch wrote:- I can't change the soundscard to HifiBerry, it stays on PiFi(-something...), any suggestions?
Please read the help text shown in the Settings UI option which selects the soundcard. Improvement are on my to-do list.

Around 25 seconds to play music is what you should expect on a Pi 2B, 3B or 3B+. On a Pi B+ or Zero its about 70 seconds. Try switching on the Auto play and Random play functions and time the plug in to play time.

We tried not to change it’s looks. The change log really is the best place to look, see here: runeaudio-0-5-beta-for-all-raspberry-pi-models-t6532.html#p25819. But, don’t worry if you cant see the differences, it probably doesn’t matter.
