If you are not in Europe I would caution you on buying directly from HiFiBerry.

Why ? I already ordered in the past the DAC+ and the Digi+ board without issue. Is there any other dealer in Europe?

RaspBerry PI2 + RuneAudio 0.4 + "Hifiberry Digi+ PRO" definitly works !! had to upgrade the kernel of course ...

by the way it solve an issue I had before using the Raspberry PI2 linked to my DAC (a marvelous Naim v1 of which i'm very proud) using an USB cable, that was: no sound, only noise with FLAC files 24bits/192khz !

Thank you all for your posts, and reverence to the creator of RuneAudio :)

First of all a Big Thanks for your Efforts and a Happy new Year to all of you !!!

Is it possible someone to describe the activation procedure of the Digi+ pro, in a way that a totally noob – like me  – can apply with success?

Thanks in advance

s.k., post the steps you completed and the steps you don't understand. I used dynobots link above to get my DAC to work and didn't think any of the steps where confusing or difficult.

Thanks surfninja,
You have right, the steps described on hondagx35 post on the link that you posted, are pretty clear to me, except the kernel rename.
Is “uname –a Linux runeaudio 4.4.33-1-ARCH #1 SMP Sat Nov 19 14:09:17 MST 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux” a single line command, or two commands ?
Meaning I have to paste on the ssh the whole thing or I have to paste it two times – one for each line ?

Since I haven’t received yet the Digi+ pro, the only thing that I have manage to do till now, is the resize of the SD partition.
If the above matter is clarified I shall proceed with the kernel update.

I am using an LCD display and an IR remote.
Is there any possibility to brake same dependency with the kernel update ?

After that, what are the steps for the Digi+ pro activation ?

Regards
sk

Hi sk,

except the kernel rename.

This is only a cosmetic change and not a needed thing.

"uname -a" is the command
"Linux runeaudio 4.4.........." is the answer.

Is there any possibility to brake same dependency with the kernel update ?

I don't think so.

Frank

Hi hondagx35,
Thanks for the clarification, it make sense.
I manage to update the kernel to "Linux runeaudio 4.4.39-1-ARCH" but I have problem with my LCD display.
I use the XploD's new version (https://github.com/RandyCupic/RuneAudioLCD ) and everything works ok, except the screen changing.
When I try to change a screen with a command from the remote control, the LCD freeze but the remote continues to work properly.
I think it is something to do with the /tmp/irpipe.
Any ideas?

I have RPi 3 runeaudio 0.3 beta kernel 4.1.20-1-ARC, working well, and just bought Hififberry Digi+ Pro. On system status page my hardware is listed as PRi2.
From reading posts on this I understand I need to upgrade the kernel to 4.4.23. Can anyone please post the instructions how to do it. I am familiar with Linux ssh etc.. but the numerous links to "how to " are somewhat circular and do not include complete set of steps. If the dev team has the date for new distribution that will include Digi + support I can wait

UPDATE:
After the second, and third :) reading of the posts on this forum I was able to enable my Digi+ pro on RPi 3 in three steps:
1. Removing comment sign from the line "dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi" in the file /boot/config.txt
2 upgrading the kernel with "pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware raspberrypi-bootloader linux-raspberrypi"
WARNING: " pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware-bootloader linux-raspberrypi" fails on RPi 3
3 selecting Hifiberry Digi as the sound interface on MPD configuration screen

I use DACMagic 100 and both SPDIF and Toslink sound really good
