Hi all,

Can any one elaborate on the below USB to SPDIF, could it possibly work with Runeaudio?
One other thing this works the same ways a DAC, only difference is that it will not output analog format only digital format correct?

Has anyone been using USB to SPDIF products?

Just to Add as scenario:

Current setup:
2 x Genelec 8330A digital speakers
1 x Yamaha RXC-50
1 x Genelec connecitivy pack

Connection:
Yamaha RXC-50 coaxial out -> Genelec

The speakers do the digital to analog conversion using their own DSP.
Yamaha can also adjust the volume using digital out with as little loss of signal processing as possible.

Here the dilemma:
I currently can't connect my raspberrypi (Runeaudio) to the setup. So if I were to use a USB to SPDIF (or Hifiberry+) I could possibly just route the sound using the digital out to the Yamahas digital in and still use the Yamahas volume control and be able to play music using Runeaudio.
