I'm going to try and revive this section of the forum with my own suggestion. It's an american band from New Orleans, MUTEMATH. I'm not exactly sure how to describe the style of the band, but I would say it's mostly alternative. On their previous recordings they used to have more of a "rock" sound, but on Vitals they made a big makeover and they mostly use vintage synth. Their new sound is very pleasant to hear and some songs will probably become some of my "benchmarks songs" when I try a new system.

There's a very interesting read on the making of the album on emusician that you can find here. They also put up videos of how the recording process and some soundcloud embeds of a few songs.

They are excellent musicians and I strongly recommend listening to their other albums (especially if you like drums), even though you like Vitals or not ;)
