TuneIn Radio

Hi!
Hope having posted well now. Very hard rules here  . About TuneIn Radio: Squeezebox has it implemented, Daphile also, AP Linux (that btw to my opinion is the best sounding audio player ever) also offer it. Don't understand the difficulties. Sorry

Hi metalrob,
no hard rules here, only the intention to keep things ordered and easy to track :)

As I said in my previously post, the only API exposed by TuneIn seems to be the one for broadcasters:
http://developers.tunein.com/docs/api/air
I quickly searched around their website and I couldn't find any instruction for an easy integration of the service in third party apps.

I'm not aware of how the other distributions you mentioned implemented it. If you can bring some information about it, I'll be happy to dig in.

And the second rule is...
Always search the forum before posting

tunein-radio-t261.html
Could you try the suggestions of this thread and see if it works?

Hi, ACX!

My posting concerning TuneIn Radio didn't find place without concideration. I thought that topics concerning forthcoming 0.3 beta will fit into the chosen theme. Sorry! It's hard to search for aequivalent topics in the forum before posting for the reason this forum has grown rapidly- and for a short input this is really time wasting. But- of course, it's your forum and I'll do my best to fit into it :)

Don't worry, I have to play the "bad cop" role sometimes if we want this community to grow in a structured and maintainable way :)

About the real topic here:
1) could you contribute with some technical informations/suggestions for a future TuneIn integration?
2) could you try the .pls thing suggested by asturnauta?

So it works in Pi MusicBox: http://www.pimusicbox.com/

I have messed with it, but so far didnt do any deep dive to try and figure it out. Only thing I saw was in the config a timeout setting. I vaguely recall seeing an api key but dont recall it being for TuneIn.....

How about a Team effort to figure it out so we can enjoy TuneIn in Rune :)

Hi ACX!

I've startet a little search about tuneIn radio and it seems that you are right with the suspicion that there is no easy integration of TuneIn in MPD.
Even the mentioned AP Linux offer it only in combination with Cantata player.

Its great everyone saying it doesnt work but it does just not in Rune.....yet :)

Get MusicBox and you can see for yourself. Its a very easy to install image, just isnt as good as Rune.

Again, its using Mopidy and if you look into Mopidy you will see its included and works.

I suppose MusicBox uses this plugin for Mopidy:
https://github.com/kingosticks/mopidy-tunein
which is a rework of a XBMC plugin.
Anyone who could do the same for MPD? :)

My coding skills are ancient....I dont think Cobol will work here :)

I can take the code apart and understand most of it, troubleshoot it, even fix some of it, but I am pretty sure there are better people here for that.

And thanks for looking ACX.
