Transfer Queue from one RuneAudio instance to another

Postby ttarpd » 23 Sep 2016, 18:02

Hi

Right now I'm listening to a stereo in my home office with a Queue of only 20 tracks tee'd up - and when I go downstairs to my lounge I'll have to manually add them again from my library on the RuneAudio instance down there.

Assuming that at some point RuneAudio can handle multiroom / multiple RuneAudio instances - wouldn't it be great to be able to pause / stop the current Queue on the RuneAudio instance you were listening to and transfer it to another room...

Apologies if this has already been posted as a feature request...

Regards,
David

Hi David,

nice idea, but at the moment not easy to implement.

What you can do is to change the playlist directory, so all your players use the same one.
You are then able to save the actual queue as a playlist and reload it downstairs.

- add a directory "playlists" to your music library top folder.
- save the file .mpdignore in the top folder
.mpdignore.zip
(163 Bytes) Downloaded 408 times

- change the "mount flags" in "Advanced options" to make your share read/write.
cache=none,noserverino,rw
- get access to the console and change the playlist directory in the database:
Code: Select all
redis-cli hset mpdconf playlist_directory "/mnt/MPD/NAS/Musik/playlists"

Adapt the path to your needs.

Now you can save your playlists system wide on your NAS.

Frank

- Get access to the console:
Use SSH from your PC
If you are not familiar with SSH read this for Windows or this for Linux/MacOS
The default login for RuneAudio is "root" with the password "rune" (without quotes).
