Tidal Streaming To Pi?

Postby Discovery » 25 Apr 2016, 13:15

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can stream Tidal to the Pi? I store my music on a Synology NAS (connected via LAN to Pi), in case that helps.

Thanks,

Trevor

Yes :)
Have a look here ;)
You would need remote app like Bubble uPnP with RuneAudio
Or you can install Tidal addon on Kodi builds

Hi Rikardo,

That very long thread didn't tell me anything about Bubble uPnP other than you have successfully enabled it to work with Tidal.

Can you give me a few hints or steps to get me started...?

Thanks,

Trevor

there is nothing to set actually :)
If you have your RPi with RuneAudio set all you need to do is to download Bubble uPnP from play store, install on your phone or tablet and thats it :)
In within the app you add Tidal under Cloud services and than select RuneAudio as a renderer
Than you simply browse your Tidal from within Buble uPnP and when you click it plays on your RuneAudio

Thats all

Hi Rikardo,

Thanks for this.

Since my last post I have downloaded and installed BuPNP on my tablet and have connected to my Tidal account.

The only thing I cannot establish is how to specify RuneAudio as the local renderer. Can you please point out where I do it? I presume all the other settings stay unchanged, i.e. as default.

Thanks.

What did you have to do?

you just select RuneAudio under renderer drop down menu :D thats all
Once you click on it it shows you all network players on your network so is just a matter of selecting it ;)

I'm having a similar issue. I'm struggling to find a way to stream tidal from my computer to my Raspberry Pi. I'm also having trouble connecting to my NAS box under the network mount

Hardware:
Raspberry Pi 3 running RuneAudio OS (4.4.39 I think)
Ethernet hardwired (wifi enabled, but I use a ethernet cable as I have a port close by)
Connected to a Moon DAC
iMac 27" 5K (a recent upgrade and is running 10.13.3)
Synology DS218Play NAS drive
iFi iPower USB power supply (highly recommended, the improvements are dramatic)

I mainly control it via my iPhone. I stream Tidal via the MCConnect app. This works quite well, has a few little bugs, but generally very good.

I am struggling to find a UPnP app for the iMac that I can control the Tidal app on the iMac and stream it to the Raspberry Pi. I tried the Linn Kazoo app, and that connects and sees Runeaudio on the raspberry Pi and can control it easily. but the Tidal functionality on it doesn't appear at all. I have all the latest versions of the software but it just doesn't appear.

There are plenty of PC options but not a lot of options for Mac. Any ideas?
