Testing FLAC Files

Postby R101 » 21 Jan 2018, 13:39

After transferring audio files to USB or NAS It would be good to be able to test the integrity of all the FLAC files from the Rune menu. Doing this from the command line is not easy for Linux beginners.

Would it be possible to have an addon utility for this?

Hi janui,

Yes, that illustrates my point perfectly. Running those commands on a Rune installation would not be easy, even if you know what you are doing. It would be great to have a utility in the menu which would run a suitable script.

HI R101,
I am sure that rern would add a tested utility such as this to his AddOns menu. It's not something which everyone would need. If you need any help setting up and testing the script please contact me.

Hi Janui,

I managed to put a copy of the linked-to script file in the home folder of the Pi, and modified the cd line to test my USB stick. I can run the script from rern's BASH addon, but it really needs something which will test all the mounted source files with a single click and then report the results. This is completely beyond me - I don't even understand most of the lines in the script as it is. At present, you have to check a text file generated by the script to see if any errors have been found.
