Swappiness & 8gb cards

Postby Naranj223 » 08 Sep 2014, 11:31

I redid my sd card install, this time I used gparted to move the swap file to the end and expand the filesystem over the full 8gb. Then I changed the swappiness from 60 to 10.

I swear the sound quality has improved, and it was already great.

Should I have expected a change at all, or is this just completely subjective?

You definitly should :) As you can see in the code of this file:
https://github.com/RuneAudio/RuneUI/blo ... ptimize.sh
swappiness is set to 0 in almost all kernel profiles (in the default profile it's set to 60).
Have you already tried to switch between profiles to find the one who better fits in your setup?

Cheers! I hadn't really experimented around with them too much, didn't realise all the settings that can be changed.

More experimenting so :D
