Postby InsecureSpike » 04 Jan 2016, 13:28

hello, I have been wondering if the pHAT DAC from Pimoroni is supported yet, or will it be supported in future?

On the Pimoroni site, there's a section about setup of the dac.
One line suggests it IS already supported:

"pHAT DAC uses the same hardware as HiFi Berry, so we're borrowing their device-tree overlay for now!"

http://learn.pimoroni.com/tutorial/phat ... ac-install

However, I didn't check it yet (waiting for delivery of my pHat DAC)

Hi,

pHat Dac sounds great compared to standard analog audio on the Raspberry Pi. I used the pHat Dac on a Raspberry Pi 1B+ and a 2B.

I cannot compare it with other Dac's, but I'm really happy with this one.
Listened with a great headphone (Sennheiser) and it really sounds good (I like the volume control in RuneAudio by the way).

Greetings,

SSH into the runeaudio player. Go to /etc/boot.txt and uncomment the line that says something about use layer of HiFi Berry.

Then reboot.

You will then be able to select HiFi Berry as a playback source under Settings (I think that one).

Had lots of static with built-in headphone jack, zero with Phat DAC.
