Hi guyb,

is it possible to hide the volume control from the playback screen if you have volume control set to disabled?

Yes it is, more when the image is out.

Support for: 7″ Touchscreen Monitor for Raspberry Pi

Do you have an approximate date for when the image will be available?

Not pressuring, just wanted to know as I plan to buy some bits to make a new case that incorporates the Pi touch screen. A rough guess would help so I can plan when I am going to be spending all my money :)

You got any images showing what will be displayed on the official Raspberry Pi display as part of the new version? :)

Hi,

the Display will show the standard user interface.
It can be used with the new 7" touch display or with a monitor (HDMI).

Hi Frank,

Apart from the connivence of having one device is there any other benefit of using the built in display functionality?

For example, if I have 2 spare Pi's and set one up with the display as a client to boot into kiosk mode to use the UI and then had my other Pi running Rune connected to my DAC for audio. Would there be any difference or benefits for just using Rune for this other than using one device?

I currently use a Waveshare 7 inch with HDMI input with 2 Raspberries.
Having 2 Raspberries gives me the chance to use the "client" (the one with the LCD connected) also for other purposes than just as Rune client.
Since I'm going to use it into my car (as car media center) the "client" (that is a PI2) could work also as GPS car navigator in the future.
In that case I will develop an interface (I'm a software developer) to switch between the fullscreen browser for the RuneUI and the GPS.
Regards,
