I can't figure out how to play anything, either. configure and enable spotify, then select it, then the player shows nothing. 0.3-beta , raspi3 w/ dac+, works fine playing files via SMB from my FreeNAS, and various streaming URLs.

Hi pierce,

I can't figure out how to play anything, either. configure and enable spotify

- you need a spotify premium account
- it has to be enabled on the settings page
- you only can play from saved playlists (on spotify).

^ I have all of those Frank. In my case, Spotify used to work ok before it stopped a few weeks back so settings wouldn't be an issue

Can you output via ssh:
Code: Select all
systemctl status spopd
? What are your logs like? The other few looks like they are stuck but i didnt see your logs etc so maybe your having a small bug since your on the same version as me?

I have the same issue.

It use to work perfectly before in 2016

switching to spotify renderer seams OK but doesn't change the renderer(the music from another renderer still flows, air play)
when trying to access my playlists, a infinite spinning wheel comes.

Hi Pierce,

And to the rest.
From my case with spotify, when i first started using it mine also would not work and that was due to the service kept on crashing! But the cause of the crash was simply from the logs folder was filling up a lot and way to quick to handle!!

What i had to do was disable all the logging from the nginx configurations and others including spotify.

Since the issue here is with the spopd service, perhaps disable logs?

Please Follow The Below At User Risk. **Backup If Possible**. Works for me but just in case ;) I dont accept responsibility!

If you are proceeding, please login to runeaudio Via FTP (I use winscp for windows).

Info founded at: http://www.runeaudio.com/documentation/quick-start/quick-start-guide/#advanced-users
Once logged in.

Navigate to:
Code: Select all
/etc/spop/spopd.conf

Inside the file, find
Code: Select all
log_file = /var/log/runeaudio/spopd.log

Once found, comment that line out by adding a "#" before the /var/log.
You should be left with:
Code: Select all
#log_file = /var/log/runeaudio/spopd.log

Once done, reload spotify. This disables logging for spopd service preventing you from getting that horrible out of space error! - Crashing spopd.

This may not work for most as you may have other issues but hopefully helps some ;)
Once done. Save the file and clear the cache by running:
Code: Select all
http://runeaudio.local/clear
then reboot runeaudio!
As for no audio? Not sure why that is! Try the above and see :)

2 ways to solve your problem:
A. Subscribed as premium membership
B. Downloading your Spotify Music for Offline listening.
As for A, it seems easy to get the solution.
As for B, maybe you need A Spotify Music Converter for helping you listening Spotify Music for offline listening.
Both 2 plan you can take into consideration for when you don't want to subscribe to the premium membership, plan B is optional.
