Hello janui,
let's get started. I made a test set of 12 songs. These are downloadable at
http://www.valorem.ee/RuneAudio/test_source.zip

and the Windows directory looks like this:
http://www.valorem.ee/RuneAudio/songs.txt

In RuneAudio, this source looks like this:
http://www.valorem.ee/RuneAudio/Clipboard01.jpg

where the hieroglyphed songs are as follows:
12 - Lay Back In The Arms Of Someone (1976).mp3
13 - For A Few Dollars More (1997).mp3
14 - Needles And Pins (1976).mp3
16 - In The Heat Of The Night (1976).mp3
17 - Baby It's You (1976).mp3
19 - If You Think You Know How To Love Me (1978).mp3

I'll start to split the source tomorrow.
Thanks for help!

Hi olev,

The problem is not escape sequences, so you do not need to test with a split music library.
I tested the files (unchanged) on my Pi 3B with the latest build and got exactly the same results as you.
Then I used MP3TAG to open the files and then save them. This is the way to use MP3TAG to correct possibly damaged tags. I tried again and everything is OK. So the problem seems to be related to incorrect, damaged or broken tags.

So install MP3TAG and try it yourself :) See this post for a MP3TAG download link: post21296.html?hilit=mp3tag#p21296

You can find information on internet to explain how MP3TAG can be used in batch scripts, this may help automating the fix, but I don’t know how to do it. Otherwise you will need to open the damaged files directory by directory. MP3TAG can be included in the context menu in windows, this is really handy. If you are successful in making a batch file to correct a complete library please post it on the forum.

PS For copyright reasons please delete the download link containing the test files from the previous post. My test copy has already been deleted.

Hello janui,,

thanks! I already browsed the files with MP3Tag, but the idea to save them didn't occur to me.
