RuneUI 404 Not Found

Postby Bryce » 19 Nov 2016, 23:12

Recently, I got a new USB WiFi adapter for my Raspberry Pi. After I finished installing the drivers for it, I encountered the problem of the web interface for rune audio returning 404 Not Found. I am unsure how to fix this, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bryce,

After I finished installing the drivers for it

Did you do a system upgradewith "pacman Syu"?
This can not be done on Rune, because we use many custom made packages.

I did use that command. I will retry the process without it.

I got it working, thank you for the response. In-case anyone else stumbles on this thread, I got my packages from here: http://tardis.tiny-vps.com/aarm/packages/

Hi all,

I am also getting the dreaded 404 not found when I boot up my RPi3 with RPi Foundation 7" touch screen.

Sometimes I have to reboot the RPi3 a few times before it will boot into Rune Audio, otherwise I just get a white screen with the following.

404 not Found
Nginx /1.4.7

I don't believe I have made any recent changes to the Rune settings or hardware at all. I do have both the inbuilt wireless and an Ethernet connection on the RPi3 and I am wondering if that is somehow causing the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Andy M

Hi Andy,

I am wondering if that is somehow causing the issue.

Why not disabling one and see what happens?

Also check the debug info (Kernel status (dmesg)) or journalctl for errors.
Check the free space on your sd card (also in debug info):
Code: Select all

Thanks Frank.

I checked and I see this for the filesystem mounts:

Is that good or bad?

I haven't disabled the wireless network yet because I am unsure of how to do that exactly. I can remove the connection in RA Network settings easy enough, but knowing I had some issues in that area when I used the USB wireless dongle, I am wondering if I need to disable it in the config file or elsewhere or not?

Also, I'm not too sure how to check those logs you mentioned, I located dmesg and journalctl, but they are just gibberish to me when I try to open them in Windows.

I see this in the debug menu item though:
Code: Select all
###### Kernel module snd_usb_audio settings ######
Error opening module snd_usb_audio

Just thought I'd let you know that the RPi/Rune Audio has fixed itself.

I did not do anything to the RPi or Rune at all, but for some reason it has started to behave itself and it is now working better than it ever has.

The touchscreen has never been very sensitive to the touch, but even that has improved, it's not perfect, but it is certainly better than it was before!

I was thinking about rewriting the MicroSD card, but now there is no need. I can only imagine that the issue was somehow related to my network as I had an issue seeing SMB devices on my PC and that mysteriously fixed itself also.

In any case, I am a happy little chappy once again, thanks for the help though Frank, it is always appreciated. :)

Hi Andy,

A solid and good performing network is a must for Rune to work smooth.
I think we should include a network performance test in our images.

Actually, that would be a great idea, especially where WiFi is concerned.

I have found with the built-in wireless on an RPi3, you suffer from a lot of dropouts and even when adding a USB wireless dongle, wireless does not perform all that well.

I went as far as installing a WiFi Extender and while it did improve things a lot, it still did not eliminate the dropouts, for me at least. Now, I am connected by both Wireless and Ethernet and the network performance is very good indeed, no dropouts at all. :)

I only have the built-in wireless connected because I am not sure how to disable it correctly.

Anyhow, having some sort of graph or numerical output to show connection speed or signal strength would definitely help track down any connection issues someone might be having or at least allow you to report good/poor network performance.

Nice one Frank! :)
