RuneAudio looses static IP after reboot/poweroff (SOLVED)

Postby EnforcerZhukov » 02 Apr 2017, 12:09

Hi, just installed today RuneAudio v0.3 on my Raspberry Pi 1 (Model B) -the latest RA release for this RPI-, and is really cool. Tried Volumio on the past but the WebUI is quite laggy, while RuneAudio WebUI is smoother.

Anyway, I've got this problem: I change the network settings on the WebUI, to a static IP... and it changes OK, everything is ok, the new IP and everything. But when I reboot, or power off and then start again the RPI, then the network stops working! I can't access RuneAudio anymore. If I run ifconfig on the RPI itself, eth0 has got no IP. Pings to external or LAN IPs don't work (gives a Network not reachable error).

Tried searching this error but found nobody else with it. Somebody know what is going on?

Thanks in advance!

I've been using V0.3 on my Raspberry 3B for two months and I'm really happy with it. Mostly I use Wifi to access UI by ipad or iphone. However, your issue (static IP changes for both Wifi and wire) also happened to me around 4~5 times. When I can't connect the UI, I need to connect by wire and check my PC for the "new" static IP, then input it in ipad/iphone and find back UI. I really also would like to know the reason why. Thanks.

Good to know I'm not the only one with the problem. But in my case, although I run ifconfig on the RPI itself, it doesn't show any IP. I might try letting it DHCP for now :geek:

Hi EnforcerZhukov,

please try to update to our "Nightly Builds".

Hi brucehuang55,

However, your issue (static IP changes for both Wifi and wire) also happened to me around 4~5 times.

This is nearly impossible. The IP settings are stored in a file and loaded at boot time.

Please post your debug data.

Hi Frank,
Currently it's no problem, but it really happened many times that the connected IP of UI changed for unknown reasons. Please help check, thanks.

Hi brucehuang55,

your issue (static IP changes for both Wifi and wire) also happened to me around 4~5 times.

From your debug data:
###### Network netctl profiles (netctl list) ######
eth0
74181033

eth0 netctl status
--------------------------------------------------------
netctl@eth0.service - Networking for netctl profile eth0
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/netctl@.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:netctl.profile(5)

eth0 netctl profile
--------------------------------------------------------
Description='eth0 connection'
Interface=eth0
ForceConnect=yes
SkipNoCarrier=yes
Connection=ethernet
IP=dhcp

74181033 netctl status
--------------------------------------------------------
netctl@74181033.service - Networking for netctl profile 74181033
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/netctl@.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:netctl.profile(5)

74181033 netctl profile
--------------------------------------------------------
Description='wlan0 connection'
Interface=wlan0
Connection=wireless
Security=wpa-configsection
IP=dhcp
WPAConfigSection=(
'ssid="74181033"'
'psk="***************"'
'key_mgmt=WPA-PSK'
'proto=RSN'
'group=CCMP'
'pairwise=CCMP'
'priority=3'
)

This is not a static IP configuration!

For DHCP configurations it is normal that the IP will change over time.
