Is there any way to "lock" Runeaudio to USB output? Or remove the possibility of MPD selecting the Pi's Analog or HDMI outputs?

I use my Runeaudio quite seldom, but have the problem that every once in a while my external DAC (over USB) disappears from the output interface list. Sometimes I can go into MPD and re-select it, but sometimes it is no longer there and I have to reboot to get it back. I haven't figured out why this is happening.

I have set a cronjob to reboot nightly, and it would be nice to prevent the RPi Analog or HDMI output to be selected during reboot if the DAC is turned off, which it will be during night.

Yes, you can disable the Pi's Analog or HDMI outputs in the Settings UI. But, in your case I do not advise it because MPD will cause all sorts problems if there is no valid audio output.
I suggest you look at this: post27686.html
I have a feeling it will solve your issues.
Rern's Addons menu can be installed from the http://runeaudio.local/dev UI. You will need to switch on 'Dev mode' and refresh the screen to activate the option. When you are finished don’t forget switch 'Dev mode' off.

@janui

Thank you for your hard work on this, you've done a great job!

Concerning Spotify,

I've found a replacement called Spotifyd. I've done a lot of testing and usage over the past month or so, and its very solid, very easy to install and set up and above all actually seems to sound like the native Spotify app.

You can follow and read my testing notes here https://dietpi.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2981 under the moniker Edward.

The github repo is here https://github.com/Spotifyd/spotifyd/wi ... spberry-Pi

I've installed it on Rune while testing and using at least 30 times, and have used it with various interfaces like Amanero USB device, XMOS, DigiOne etc.

If you implement it in Rune I would be happy to test and help in any way.

Thanks for this post. I am currently working on integrating Spotifyd. It should be available in the next version.

Hello everybody,

I'm new here and wanted to install the rune player to my raspberry 3 b+.
I've downloaded the 0.5 beta and used the win32 disk imager to put it on the sd card. Checksum is okay.

Now when I start the Raspberry, I see the following on my screen:

[3.835267] Error: Driver 'sdhost-bcm2835' is already registered, aborting...
[3.840262] vc-vchi--sm_init: failed to open VCHI service (-1)
[3.840265] [vc_sm_connected_init]: failed to initialize shared memory service
Warning: /lib/modules/4.14.34-1-ARCH/modules.devname not found - ignoring
starting version 238
/dev/mmcblk0p2: clean, 92386/237104 files, 657765/947200 blocks
_

The cursor blinks and nothing more happens.

I hope you can help me.

Best regards Paddy

Hi Paddy

Don't know about win32 but the RPi3+ is 64bit if it makes a difference.

Either way, I'd use Etcher instead of win32 bit flasher. I must have flashed that image 40 times so far using Etcher, ever single time worked perfectly.
