Noob here my first RPi box, please have pity on me. I read and searched all day for a solution so before my wife divorces me...

I just installed Rune V0.5 20180903 on a RPi 3B+ rev1.3 with a HIFIberry Digi+ Pro daughter board. I got Runo to work (its awesome) and Connected to Spotify but it only plays in analog. For some strange reason i can't get my S/PDIF DAC to play anything.

My DAC is good and plays with my cd transport. The i2s Kernal is the HiFiBerry Digi Pro and the output is HiFiBerry Digi (i2s), What am i missing?

Thanks for any help.
Kevin

The Spotify support in RuneAudio stopped working some time ago. In the UI you can see this:

Hi Janui,,,Thank you for the response.

Sorry my post was unclear.
"Spotify Connect" is not the issue - that works along with playing from the network share and usb BUT only in analog.

The issue is that when i play any music thru the HIFIBerry digi i don't get a Digital output. My DAC fails to see/process a signal. I selected all the correct options in the software. I think there's something wrong in my config but can't seem to find it.

UPDATE: I wiped it and started over. It works like its supposed too now.

I also found this error but couldn't seem to resolve it -

Hi bondoz,
Good that eveything is working. I am very interested in the error message:

If it is still appearing, could you post the ouput of these commands:
Code: Select all
dmesg | grep -i -E 'alsa|mpd' | grep -v audit
journalctl | grep -i -E 'alsa|mpd' | grep -v audit
Thanks in advance,

A while ago , I did a gitpull , rebooted and everything was fine . Today I found that devmode seems to be kaput . I get Guru Meditation #0000022.65045032 errot . Any ideas what is going on ? Everything works fine apart from devmode :)

Thanks for the clarification. Can you tell me which version of MPD you are using on v04b.
janui

Hi janui,

Due to the fact that Rune was throwing up various problems, I reinstalled 0.4b from scratch. The MPD update addon installed v0.21.5, which works OK, so there does not appear to be a problem with the new MPD version.

Hi, I just installed the 0.5beta version. Version 0.3beta have worked since 2015 on a pi2 until a bug prevents updating the musical index. I added the addon RuneUI enhancement to version 0.5. Everything is working except the RuneUI interface on android and ios.
I have this error messages:
Code: Select all
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /srv/http/app/templates/enhancebody.php on line 78
Warning: scandir(/srv/http/assets/img/coverarts): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /srv/http/app/templates/enhancebody.php on line 105
Warning: scandir(): (errno 13): Permission denied in /srv/http/app/templates/enhancebody.php on line 105
Warning: array_slice() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in /srv/http/app/templates/enhancebody.php on line 105

does anyone have a solution?
Thanks
konki

Hi konki,
konki wrote:...I have this error messages:...
I don't quite understand what is going on here, the file /srv/http/app/templates/enhancebody.php and directory /srv/http/assets/img/coverarts are not part of the standard distribution. It looks like you have installed something extra, maybe Rern's addons. If so, I suggest you post any questions about this in the thread concerning the extra installed components.

Hi nic,
nic wrote:...Today I found that devmode seems to be kaput...
I am not sure that this will fix it, but I would try a manual git pull via SSH. These are the commands which I normally use:
Code: Select all
cd /srv/http/
git config --global core.editor "nano"
git config user.email "any@body.com"
git config user.name "anybody"
git stash
git add .
git pull --no-edit
cd /home
chown -R http.http /srv/http/
find /srv/http/ -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
find /srv/http/ -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
find /etc -name *.conf -exec chmod 644 {} \;
find /usr/lib/systemd/system -name *.service -exec chmod 644 {} \;
chmod 644 /etc/nginx/html/50x.html
chmod 777 /run
chmod 755 /srv/http/command/*
chmod 755 /srv/http/db/redis_datastore_setup
chmod 755 /srv/http/db/redis_acards_details
chmod 755 /etc/X11/xinit/start_chromium.sh
chown mpd.audio /mnt/MPD/*
chown mpd.audio /mnt/MPD/USB/*
chmod 777 /mnt/MPD/USB
chmod 777 /mnt/MPD/USB/*
chown -R mpd.audio /var/lib/mpd
/srv/http/command/rune_shutdown
reboot
Any errors are normally OK, except the git pull.
If you still have problems you can reinstall 0.5b via SSH. All your settings should be retained. Use these commands:
Code: Select all
cd /var/www
/srv/http/command/rune_shutdown
git config user.email "any@body.com"
git config user.name "anybody"
git config --global core.editor "nano"
umount http-tmp
rm -rf /var/www/{*,.*}
git clone -b 0.5b https://github.com/gearhead/RuneUI.git/ /var/www
find /srv/http/ -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
find /srv/http/ -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
find /etc -name *.conf -exec chmod 644 {} \;
find /usr/lib/systemd/system -name *.service -exec chmod 644 {} \;
chmod 644 /etc/nginx/html/50x.html
chmod 777 /run
chmod 755 /srv/http/command/*
chmod 755 /srv/http/db/redis_datastore_setup
chmod 755 /srv/http/db/redis_acards_details
chmod 755 /etc/X11/xinit/start_chromium.sh
chown mpd.audio /mnt/MPD/*
chown mpd.audio /mnt/MPD/USB/*
chmod 777 /mnt/MPD/USB
chmod 777 /mnt/MPD/USB/*
chown -R mpd.audio /var/lib/mpd
reboot
